Warrington Guardian: Rylands edge home at Pilks Rylands edge home at Pilks

RYLANDS recovered from a two-goal deficit to win 3-2 at Pilkington in Cheshire Football League Division One on Saturday.

The opening goal came in the 18th minute, when Moor completely misjudged a long ball and allowed Sephton an easy conversion from close range.

Things got worse for Rylands on the half hour, when Sephton crossed into the penalty area and Moor could not prevent Thompson increasing the home side’s lead.

James Daniels kick-started the comeback 37 minutes in and in the 70th minute they drew level, Kris Bell brilliantly controlling Ewan Rodger's pass and to slide the ball beyond the home keeper to make it 2-2.

Rodgers turned from provider to match winner moments later, his close-range finish from Daniels’ cross completing an outstanding revival.

In Division Two, Oliver Hardman gave Daten a 1-0 half time lead at home to Maine Road Reserves, which was doubled by Pete Mather in the 73rd minute to secure them a much-needed 2-0 win and a chance of breaking free of the mid-table melee.

Rylands beat Denton Town 4-3 in an end-to-end Reserve Division fixture, while Barnton proved they are still contenders for the league title with a 5-3 win at local rivals Middlewich Town.

Barnton now sit in fourth place with seven games in hand over top side Greenalls.
