WARRINGTON women’s hockey team snatched a dramatic victory in a closely-contested game at Macclesfield.
There were chances at both ends, including some great saves from Tracy Jackson and goal-line clearances from Sarah Milner.
Player-of-the-match Louise Sullivan was outstanding pushing Warrington forward, but it was Steph Lace who stole the show with a close-range finish five minutes before the end.
The win puts Warrington third in Cheshire League Division Two, behind Alderley Edge and Lymm second-string teams on points difference only.
Warrington’s men’s team continued their winning streak, triumphing 3-1 against Didsbury.
Ben Vickers scored two more goals in his prolific season and captain Tom Yates added another.
