HARRIET Knowles-Jones smashed her own Warrington Athletics Club record in a stunning performance at the most recent Trafford Grand Prix in Stretford.
The under 17s runner, who improved Heather Timmins’ previous best by 11 seconds in May, knocked a further 15 seconds off the 3,000m marker en route to second spot behind Scunthorpe’s Sarah Kemshall – nine years her senior – in 9mins 33.37secs.
Amy Talbot returned from university in America to finish behind Knowles-Jones in 13th place, clocking 10mins 19.59secs.
Sam Dykes was second in the British Milers’ Club 800m race, recording 1min 52.70secs, while Jack Gleave’s 2mins 0.87secs saw him finish eighth in the C race.
In the Grand Prix Series over 1,500m, Chris Fance finished 10th in 4mins 23.46secs. Robert Dykes followd him home in 4mins 31.34secs.
