A GOVERNMENT planning inspector has rejected an appeal by developer Brian Foden for building work on his land to start an alpaca business.
He had put in an application to build a single-storey property at Barondale Grange on Stockport Road to house three pairs of rare alpacas.
The animals would be used for agricultural purposes – sell off the fur and become a business.
But the application was turned down by council planning officers who said it was inappropriate in the green belt.
Now a Government planning inspector has agreed.
He said the building would be too big and imposing in the area.
