IRRESPONSIBLE dog owners and litter bugs should be beware after Great Sankey Labour councillors have promised a clean up blitz for the next three weeks as part of the council's ‘love where you live’ campaign.

Starting on Monday, the initiative will support litter picking events and clean up any fly tipping.

Clr Hitesh Patel is now urging residents to get in touch to highlight any ‘grot spot’ areas.

He said: “If there are any particular streets where dog fouling is really bad or if members of the community need help to organise a community litter pick then please let me know.

“Community litter picks can be really good fun and it really helps build a sense of civic pride of where we live.”
