A WALTON charity is grateful for funding from a Bewsey funeral home after its owners heard the charity was targeted by burglars.

The Co-operative Funeralcare, in Bewsey Road, helped raise funds for The Walton Lea Project after thieves struck in November snatching a camera, cash and damaging doors.

They raised £400 at a Christmas memorial service at St Alban’s Church, in Bewsey Street.

Principal funeral director Sue Douthwaite said: “I read about the break-in and I know how hard everyone works so I wanted to help.”

The project is a horticultural employment scheme for adults with physical and learning difficulties.
