A BIRCHWOOD firm has teamed up with a charity to help fund life-saving defibrillators

Certas Energy at Birchwood Park has launched the Community Defibrillator Campaign with The Oliver King Foundation.

The Bridgewater Place company will provide funds for defibrillators and training through Liverpool charity, The Oliver King Foundation.

It was set up in memory of 12-year-old Oliver King, who died in March 2011 of sudden arrhythmic death syndrome (SADS).

Between 16 and 19 young people die each week from SADS. The condition usually affects people between the ages of 12 and 35.

Defibrillators deliver electric energy to the heart and can potentially save someone's life after a cardiac arrest.
