PAUL Wood is given a starting spot ahead of fellow prop Garreth Carvell for today's Super League clash at Celtic Crusaders.

The move appears to be a purely tactical switch, with no reports of an injury to Carvell, who takes his place on the bench.

Wood has been in top form in recent weeks, his strong performances earning him a place in the Super League team of the month for June.

But starting berths have been few and far between for the long-serving 28-year-old, featuring in the 13 just twice, and he has been largely used as an impact player from the bench.

Otherwise Wolves are unchanged from the team that defeated Hull FC 24-12 last week.

Wolves: Richie Mathers; Chris Hicks, Chris Bridge, Matt King, Chris Riley; Simon Grix, Michael Monaghan; Adrian Morley, Jon Clarke, Paul Wood, Louis Anderson, Ben Westwood, Ben Harrison. Subs: Paul Johnson, Vinnie Anderson, Garreth Carvell, Mike Cooper.

Crusaders: Marshall Chalk; Luke Dyer, Steve Tyrer, Mark Dalle Cort, Anthony Blackwood; Mark Lennon, Jace Van Dijk; Ryan O'Hara, Lincoln Withers, Mark Bryant, Jordan James, Chris Beasley, Peter Lupton. Subs: Ben Flower, Jason Chan, Neil Budworth, Geraint Davies.
