AFTER a ‘long winter’ at the Long Lane Garden Centre staff have decided to brighten things up using the stories of Beatrix Potter.

A themed garden has been created based on the tale of Peter Rabbit, the mischievous bunny chased about the garden of Mr McGregor.

The Orford charity supports adults with learning difficulties, and the garden was created by Eddie Platt who is recovering from a brain injury.

He is passionate about art and was able to carry on with his hobby with support from the centre Kath Jones, site co-ordinator, said: “Eddie is very proud of what he achieves at the centre and how much it provides therapeutic centre to his life.

“We have changed the story slightly for children to learn a lesson from the illustrations “Gardening has positive benefits for people at the centre and keeps them focused whenever times are low.”
