ERIC Morris, husband of the late Winifred Morris, died on July 21, aged 88.
Mr Morris, from Fearnhead, formerly Great Sankey, was born in Cerrigydrudgion, North Wales.
He joined Warrington Post Office and was head postmaster at Widnes for many years. During the Second World War he served with military intelligence.
In his younger days he enjoyed playing cricket and football and later in life he played bowls and golf until ill health prevented him from doing so.
He was a regular member of the Royal British Legion and Eagle Sports Club, Great Sankey, and loved socialising and spending time with all of his family.
Mr Morris leaves two sons, two daughters, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A service and cremation was held on Monday, August 3 at Walton Lea.
The Rev Karen Timmis officiated.
