LESLIE Shaw, known as Les, husband of the late Joyce Shaw, died on February 10, aged 88.
Mr Shaw, of Callands Care Home, formerly from Orford and Bewsey, lived in the Warrington area all his life.
He was first employed at Greenings Wire, then Shell Stanlow, Thames Board and then returned to Greenings Wire until retirement.
During the Second World War he served in Belgium and Germany.
Mr Shaw enjoyed gardening, watching horse racing, walking his dogs and family holidays in north Wales.
In his younger days he was a keen Wolves supporter.
He leaves a daughter and two granddaughters.
A service was held on February 26 at Walton Lea, followed by cremation.
The Rev Michael Raynor officiated. His ashes will be interred at Warrington Cemetery at a later date.
Arrangements were made by Knox & Son.
