RESIDENTS in Warrington have had the chance to have their say on the future priorities for their new housing provider.

In April, Golden Gates Housing Trust is merging with Helena Partnerships in St Helens to form a ‘super’ trust called Torus.

At a special event held at Haydock Park Racecourse more than 60 invited guests heard from chief executive (designate) Rob Young and chairman Graham Burgess.

Guests found out more about the vision for Torus and the plans to make Helena and GGHT improve local neighbourhoods, services and the region as a whole.

Customers then worked in groups, with staff and members of the executive management team, to look at four areas; building new homes, money matters, support, and jobs and employment.

Mr Young said: “We really appreciate the time and input that so many of our customers have given us. Their views will now be used to form the Torus ‘customer commitment’ which will be shared with all Helena and GGHT residents in the coming months.”

Throughout the same week customers were also invited to share their views online and all completed surveys were entered into a prize draw to win an Apple iPad Mini donated by Keepmoat.

Out of more than 200 surveys submitted Joanne Swann, from Warrington, was 'totally surprised' by her win.
