A STRETTON-BASED transport company is backing a large goods vehicle taster day which will be held later this month.
The North West's largest independent haulier, Mark Thompson Transport, will hosting the event in conjunction with Horsepower, who provide LGV training for women.
Mark Thompson said: "We believe hauliers need to reach out and showcase the opportunities that exist in the logistics industry."
Horsepower founding members Nathalie Axon said the event is about changing people's perspective of truck driving.
She said: "This is a profession no longer strictly for men, the modern truck is a very refined work companion and there's plenty of girl friendly work out there.
"We are promoting becoming a professional driver to men and women who have never considered this as an option.
The event will be held on November 22 at Oulton Park Circuit in Tarporley.
