A CONSTRUCTION firm has heralded a major new recruitment drive at the opening of its new base in Birchwood.

MP for Warrington North Helen Jones welcomed news that EIC was now headhunting everyone from electrical engineers to skilled project managers.

She cut the ribbon to the new offices at Olympic Park at a champagne reception attended by representatives from across the building industry.

She said: “I want to see good firms that offer employment for the people of Warrington and that’s what I hope will happen here.

"This is a growing company in a growing region, bringing new job opportunities for people.”

Paul Silvester, regional director for EIC, said the company was expanding and hoped to play a prominent role in the future growth of construction in the region.

“Like most, we felt the impact of the recession, but with high profile schemes such as Manchester Airport City bolstering the economy, business in the north has gathered momentum,” he said.

“With a new management structure in place, we have been able to relocate to a bigger premises with increased workspace for the co-ordination of projects, and are now also in a position to build our skilled labour force, investing in estimation and design to ensure growth is sustainable."

EIC specialises in construction, mechanical and electrical (M&E), facilities management and fast track and retail – is one of the success stories, with its northern division securing contracts to the value of £8.5 million in the past year and on target to double its turnover by 2016.

EIC north is also undertaking projects at educational establishments including the new King's Leadership Academy in Woolston.
