Woman mugged in Padgate

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman was mugged for her phone in Padgate.

The 25-year-old was returning to car at the rear of shops in Marsh House Lane when two men demanded she hand over her handbag.

One man tried to grab it bruising the victim’s wrist, said police.

They then fled on mountain bikes towards Gorsey Lane when the woman realised her mobile phone had been taken.

The incident took place at around 8.40pm on Friday, September 7.

The first mugger is described as white, aged between 18 and 21, around 5ft 8ins tall of slim build with brown eyes.

He wore a black hooded top with the hood up and is believed to have had shaved hair.

The second man is described as white and wore dark clothing.
