THOUSANDS lined the streets of Warrington this afternoon to welcome home the triumphant Warrington Wolves players.

An open-top bus carrying the Challenge Cup winning side started at Orford Jubilee Park before passing the stadium and heading to the town hall where a sea of primrose and blue waited for them as fans waved flags and scarves.

Centre Ryan Atkins said: "For the fans to come out in the number they have done on a bank holiday is brilliant.

"But they always do whether we're playing at home or away so we want to thank them for their support.

"Hearing them singing their songs makes the hairs stand up on the back of your neck, it's a great feeling."

Warrington Wolves were crowned Challenge Cup winners for the third time in four years on Saturday after defeating Leeds Rhinos 35-18 at Wembley Stadium.
