A MOTHER who stole from her employers to pay for a gastric band operation had her sentence cut on Tuesday.
Lorraine Ann Morgan, aged 41, formerly of Appleford Close, Appleton, was jailed for 20 months for fraud at Warrington Crown Court in November last year.
The mother of two stole £68,000 from her long-standing employers Laserline S.P.A. Ltd, based in Manchester Road, Woolston.
She used £6,000 of the stolen cash to pay for a gastric band operation.
Lord Justice Rix told the appeal court in London Morgan had also suffered from acute depression.
Allowing the appeal, and cutting Morgan's sentence to 16 months, the judge said her original punishment "failed to give adequate discount for her personal mitigation".
