THE assets of Warrington’s oldest family-owned jewellers will go on sale early next month.

Noble Jewellery, which has been running for 42 years, closed in January after falling victim to a downturn in trade and to the wider economic problems.

Now its assets are being sold by property consultant Sanderson Weatherall.

The closing down sale of Noble’s Jewellery stock is being managed by the Manchester office of Sanderson Weatherall from next Thursday, March 1.

Noble Jewellery traded from two sites in Warrington as Noble Jewellery and Court Jewellers respectively.

The business went into liquidation in late January with the loss of 13 jobs.

The founder and managing director Stuart Noble is retiring following the company’s closure.

Neil Simpson, partner, machinery and business assets at the Manchester office of Sanderson Weatherall, said: “Noble Jewellery was a well respected member of the Warrington corporate community for almost half a century and its liquidation was an unfortunate consequence of declining trade because of the poor economic climate.

“This is a genuine closing down sale with all goods available for half price or less and we expect a great deal of interest to be generated.”

Sanderson Weatherall was appointed by the liquidator of Noble Jewellery Ltd, Ian Williamson of Campbell, Crossley & Davis of Blackpool.

It is the second jeweller in town to go into liquidation in the past six months after Baker and Son on Cairo Street and Stockton Heath closed before Christmas.
