YOBS smashed up two bus stops in Padgate just weeks after they had been improved to encourage residents to catch the bus.

The two stops on Blackburne Close both had panes of glass broken earlier this month.

They had been fitted with new seats at the end of last year following an 18-month campaign.

Poulton North Clr Geoff Settle said: “I was very annoyed about the damage.

“To watch people arriving at the bus stop the day afterwards and not be able to use them or the shelter because of the glass was very annoying.”
