AUTHOR and Bob the Builder designer Curtis Jobling has been made a patron of the newly-formed Warrington Wolves Children’s University.

The Wolves fan said he was delighted to be offered the role and marked the opening of the Wolf Den with Wolves star Paul Wood and a cheeky caricature session.

The Wolves Charitable Foundation and claims company Gladstone Brookes opened the new facility, which will offer a host of educational opportunities and become the flagship for children’s university, at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Former Penketh High School pupil Curtis said it was ‘quite an honour’ to be asked.

He added: “I have been looking to do something with the club for ages so it’s great to be involved.

“It’s nice to give something back because I didn’t have opportunities like this when I was younger.”

The Children’s University is a national project which provides seven to 14-year-olds with exciting learning activities outside of school hours.

Each child receives a ‘passport to learning’ and collects ‘hours of learning’ through completing activities ranging from model-making to illustrations.
