NAME: Dominic Walker
AGED: 34
FROM: Woolston
TITLE: Match day annoucer
HOW LONG WITH WOLVES: Five seasons
“I USUALLY arrive a couple of hours before the game and finalise the running order with the dancers and singers and then go through the opposition team and make sure there are no difficult pronunciations.
“It’s terribly nerve-wracking but if you’re not nervous, I don’t think it’s worth doing.
“I look at the number of people coming out of the tunnel and just enjoy it.
“Rugby league is a family sport and although the game is the focal point there’s a whole matchday to build around that with the under 18/20s playing, the cheerleaders and local singers.
“It brings the whole community together to make a great match day.
“I'm hoping we get to Old Trafford and that I don’t get run over by players on the pitch! I had to jump out of the way of Henry Fa’afili and Kevin Penny has come close to running me over too!”
