“YOU have to get it right in my job.

“The players expect it. Everything has to be in its place and I get nervous on match days. Woody (Paul Wood) sits in the corner, always has done and Benny (Westwood), has to have his shirt on the peg which lines up with the ‘P’ on the picture above it.

“I have lots of highlights but nothing beats an empty Wembley Stadium the day before the first Challenge Cup final.

“We went to the Nou Camp and Olympic Stadium in Barcelona but nothing competes with Wembley.

“It was pretty good the following day too when we won!

“I don’t have any favourites, it is a pleasure to work with all the players.

“People like Jackie Edwards and Parry Gordon are my heroes.

“But Alfie Langer is a personal friend and I went to see him during a holiday in Australia in November.

“And Andrew Johns gave me a signed shirt (which is hanging in the corridor outside his office).

“The biggest shirt and shorts in the team at the moment is David Solomona at XXXL while the smallest is Richie Myler with XS.”
