HOW LONG WITH WOLVES: Second season
“IT is my job to get everything in place so the players are ready to go when they arrive.
“My work starts pre-season.
“We test different drinks for them in pre-season games to see which they respond best to.
“When you see the warm ups, we are getting them right for the game.
“Some of them need a word of reassurance to tell them they are the best, some like firing up. It is about knowing the individual.
“We then use ice baths after the game and give different programmes for different players to work on recovery.
“And we plan their meal for after the game too.
“I thought I used to know when they were ready for a game but not so much recently. They looked a bit off (in training) for the Bradford game but then came out and produced a performance.
“When I arrived, the team had won the cup but finished 10th so I thought there was plenty I could do.
“There are plenty of highlights but being from Wigan and winning at Wigan was special – and gave my dad bragging rights.”
