I've had the most amazing weekend in Brussels.

Alex and I arrived on Friday evening and left on Monday morning.

I was really sad to go.

I really enjoyed the time there. We strolled around the Grand Place, saw the Manneken Pis (the little statue of the boy weeing) and had some gorgeous food. We ate some amazing food while there too. Not all of it Belgian though! We had spaghetti napolitana, churros (absolute heaven!) and the chips from Frit' N Toast.

We had a less than ideal dining experience at La Maharani, an Indian restaurant where everything seemed like too much trouble and the food could have been better. Considering that I had touched the arm of the t'Seerclaes bronze statue earlier that day which is supposed to bring you luck, I think it hadn't quite kicked in when we found that restaurant.

We visited the Musical Instrument Museum and the Magritte Museum (which was a highlight for me, as I particularly like his artwork.) We even braved the bitter cold to look around the European Quarter. We crammed so much into the weekend that it knackered me out but I loved absolutely every minute.

If only I could spend every weekend in such an amazing place!
