A TEENAGER broke an injunction not to harass his neighbours.

He turned up drunk at his mum's home in Burtonwood after the England game against Hungary and began shouting and kicking her door.

The 18-year-old smashed a window with a milk bottle - and when neighbours came out to investigate, he threatened one with the bottle and another with a stick.

The chaos was caused in Knight Road by David McKenna - he used to live there with mum, Michelle Broome.

He was arrested in the early hours of last Wednesday and appeared before Warrington Crown Court on Monday, handcuffed to a security guard.

He refused four offers from the judge for a solicitor to represent him, saying 'No, I'm safe', 'I'm alright man', 'I don't want one', and 'No, man'.

The teenager wore a gold chain and repeatedly answered questions with 'Yeah, Yeah' and 'Innit'.

He made a written statement admitting the breaches - alleging he had been attacked and threatened by the neighbours - their statements disputed this.

He said he was trying to get his birth certificate from his mum's for a trip to the Jobcentre and admitted he got carried away because of the drink.

Daniel Northall, acting for Golden Gates Housing, who brought the injunction, said: "There's enough evidence in his statement to show a clear and flagrant breach of the injunction."

McKenna, who now lives with his father in New Haven Road, Orford, was given a 14-day suspended jail sentence.
