AS A Warringtonian, I can no longer contain my anger at the amount of money being wasted by Clr. Gartside and his colleagues.

Having already wasted over £1 million on Bridge Street, they have short-listed six firms regarding the design of Market Gate. That alone must have cost a few thousand pounds.

Clr. Orange has set aside more than £300,000 to pay for this. Hands up those citizens whose council tax has gone down!

Clr. Orange, the boss of the finance committee, says the £3 million allocated to break away from the county is not enough. No wonder!

The mind boggles at the thought of galloping horses down Horsemarket Street, no doubt after having a drink at the River of Life.

In a few years time, the Commonwealth Games are coming to this area. If any more money is to be wasted, would it not be better 'wasted' on an Olympic-style stadium for the children and youth of this town? We have already got the park.

Perhaps it could be named the Ball and Parry Stadium and dedicated, not only to the children, but also the soldiers who have lost their lives since that fateful Saturday.
