THE phenomenon that is Riverdance is coming to Manchester.

The exhilarating tribute to Irish dance will be staged at the NYNEX Arena from June 18 to 29.

It's less than two years since the show was staged for the first time in Dublin just over 21 months ago.

It has already become the stuff of theatrical legend.

The new principals, Breandan de Gallai and Joanne Doyle, have been with the show from the outset.

They will be joined by Yolanda Gonzalez, Sobrado, the Moscow Folk Ballet and the Riverdance singers.

The show which started as a seven-minute Eurovision showpiece, designed to fill the interlude during the TV transmission, has now been seen all over the world.

It will rarely have enjoyed such a magnificent setting as Europe's largest multi-purpose indoor entertainment and sports arena.
