HAWTHORNE were decisively beaten by a Coach House team in top form in Warrington Greenall Tetley Darts League.

Black Bear came unstuck at home to Brickmakers in spite of 11 darts from Terry Sheen and 14 from S. Wright.

Wheatsheaf overwhelmed Gas Social with a 10 darter from Archie Goodier with support from Mick Birmingham, 13, and Dave Hancox, 14. A. Regan hit a 14 for Imperial as they won at Albion and Barry Johnson was British Rail's sole loser aginst Royal Oak Branch.

In Division Two, Farmers Arms slipped up at home to Bull's Head for whom Peter Barlow slotted in a super 12 darter. Bull now become major contenders for the title with 27 points.

Poplars have 28 after captain Dave Brown set up their win with a 16 darter against Warrington Town.

Penketh Sports have the same total after they were held to a surprise draw at Howley for whom Eric Driscoll hit a 14 as Howley won the last three legs for a point.

King and Queen have yet to play their postponed game at Causeway before the scheduled end of fixture programme and they have 26 points after a good win at Rylands with J. Hackney best on the night with 13 darts.

G. Jeremiah had a 12 darter for St. Benedicts but Penketh Cons won with a sound middle-order display.

In Division Three, Spa Brook survived a hard match at Chapel House with two drawn legs to seal the title and Bill Price, with 13 darts for White Hart, was best of the clutch of good throwers as they won at Marquis.

Alford Sports are most likely runners-up in this division after beating Highwayman.

All clubs must be represented at Wednesday night's delegates' meeting at Cons Club starting at 7.30pm.
