DOZENS of French visitors will arrive in the village soon to meet members of the Lymm Twin Town Society.

Up to 55 continentals will make the trip across the channel to visit their English counterparts and strengthen the bond between Lymm and Meung sur Loire.

Members of the society have held eight events over the last 12 months to raise the £2,500 needed to pay for the visit.

Secretary Jack Lord, of Foxley Close, said: "As the visit gets closer everyone in the society gets excited. It's something to look forward to.

"We have 104 families in the village who are members of the society and it's proving to be more and more popular."

A treasure hunt will be held in the village centre on April 19 to raise more money for the visit which will take place in the first days of May.

Anyone interested in finding out more information about the society or possibly hosting some French visitors can contact Jack Lord on Warrington 754073.
