YOUNG Michelle Woodroffe is hoping publicising her battle against a little-known illness will help raise awareness of the condition.
Michelle, aged 25, suffers from Lupus, an incurable though controllable condition affecting 40,000 people in the UK.
Michelle, from Knowsley Lane, Church Lawton, had to give up her job in 1993 after being diagnosed with the condition.
With Lupus the body's defence mechanism goes into overdrive and starts to attack itself, and symptoms vary from extreme fatigue to miscarriage and destruction of vital organs.
Michelle is regularly exhausted from the condition, and has the classic "butterfly'' rash associated with Lupus on her face.
April 5 to 12 is Lupus Awareness Week, staged by charity Lupus UK, and for more details ring 01708-731251.which links up with support groups boasting 6,000 members.
