DELE Adebola celebrated his return from injury with a goal in front of the television cameras on Monday night, re-igniting Crewe's promotion campaign.

The Alex dominated the game at Gresty Road which was featured live on Sky playing their usual attractive possession football.

And, without ever looking their best, they still produced plenty of moments for the cameras to savour.

Adebola looked eager in attack and worked well with Crewe's new signing Steve Anthrobus. Youngster Seth Johnson made an accomplished debut playing largely in the left wing back position and was voted man of the match by the crowd, an accolade he thoroughly deserved.

Adebola, Macauley and Murphy had all been denied by Preston keeper Kelham O'Hanlon, when Dele finished a lovely move involving Savage, Murphy and Garvey, to give Crewe the lead after 41 minutes and justify manager Dario Gradi's faith in selecting him.

Preston put the ball into the back of the net following a free kick in the second half but the ball was disallowed for a foul on the keeper.

Murphy had time to put on a demonstration in the art of dribbling before time was called on a deserved Crewe victory.
