MORE than 80 students from Mid Cheshire College took part in interview training delivered by a trio of experienced ICI personnel staff as part of a careers education and guidance programme.

Stuart Greenfield, Alan Ventham and Trevor Stephenson gave two group presentations on interview skills and then conducted 20 minute mock interviews followed by feedback sessions lasting between 10 and 20 minutes.

The events were organised by Ken Moss, the college's careers and educational guidance officer and Jennifer Sanderson, the college tutorial development manager.

Ken explains: "Interview skills and performance is a very important part of careers education and this event will undoubtedly have assisted our students with real applications and job interviews."

Following the event a customer feedback exercise was undertaken and all returns were highly positive about the day.

Local companies such as ICI play a valuable role in giving students genuine experience of the processes firms go through when recruiting staff and the college has expressed its appreciation to them.
