WIDNES CC juniors will enrol at Beaconsfield Road on Monday 21 April, u13s will commence at 5.00pm, u15s at 6.30pm, all are welcome.

Youth coach, Peter Hewitt said: "The club is delighted to be bolstered by the return of Bob Blair.

"His vast experience can only do the promising crop of youngsters the world of good."

Bob will be involved at all levels and his professionalism should rub off throughout all the sides.

In addition to this David Leather has recently gained a coaching qualification and will be available to help the youngsters.

Junior cricket development in Lancashire and Cheshire particularly at school level is in a major transitional period and Halton Council Sports development officers have asked the club to be a lead player in fulfilling their directives at grass root level.

Mr Hewitt, who has been appointed the chairman of MYC from 1997, said: "Widnes CC has been recognised as a club where all players and committee recognise the importance of a well run youth section.

"It is a great honour for all of us involved."
