I think we now need to ask if we really need a new superstore in the centre of Warrington.
We already have three in a half-mile radius so another is quite ridiculous.
With this proposed superstore and petrol station on the site of Lockers, the traffic will be horrendous, adding to the already busy Mersey Street/Church Street roundabout.
Please let us have common sense and not pound signs ruling the planning committee.
Warrington Borough Council should be supporting Warrington Market which is their superstore and consider the effect another massive superstore will have on the already stressed businesses under that roof. Their revenue will be reduced further if the patronage continues to decline because of yet another superstore in the vicinity. Why not encourage developers to build houses or better still create a genuine rejuvenation on the outskirts of a town centre.?
