WOMEN'S views on aspects of violence and safety in Warrington are not taken seriously enough, according to a recent survey.
Sixty nine per cent of women who took part in the Agenda 21 Women's Forum survey thought that women's views on the whole issue of violence against women were not taken seriously.
On safety in open spaces, the figure went up to 79 per cent.
Seventy eight per cent of women in the survey did not think that women were treated equally in employment.
Sixty six per cent did not think women had enough say in housing design.
Fifty three per cent thought there was fair allocation of resources for women's needs in Warrington, 42 per cent thought that women were fully involved in making decisions affecting their lives and 56 per cent thought there was adequate leisure provision for women.
The results of the survey were revealed at a recent meeting of the Forum.
They will be part of the whole Agenda 21 programme which is currently being compiled.
Forum chairman, Clr Joan Harpin, said that eventually the group would seek funding and address issues, and it also hopes to appoint a co-ordinator for women's issues.
