WARRINGTON Rowing Club's forward-looking youth policy has produced another exciting prospect for the future.

Phil Dostal, of Stockton Heath, has been called up to the GB junior rowing squad after an impressive year.

The 17-year-old partnered Richard Egington, who was recently called up to the GB under 23 squad, to success in the senior three sculling event in the Head of the Mersey competition earlier this month.

Rowing club trainer Richard Sinnott said: "Philip has worked very hard and we're all pleased for him. It's what he deserved and, hopefully, he can use this as a platform to go and prove himself on the international stage."

Phil will link up with the rest of the GB squad for time trials at Easter.
