Millom 36
Crosfields 4
AFTER a promising opening half Crosfields were out-gunned by accomplished Millom in this BARLA National Cup tie.
Millom took a 6-0 lead but Crosfields bounced back and determined running from John Bannon saw him dummy his way over.
With minutes to go to the break Millom stretched the visitors' defence and scored for a half-time lead of 10-4.
Crosfields were caught cold at the start of the second half as Millom stepped up a gear and two tries put the game beyond doubt.
Millom grew in confidence and further tries followed but Crosfields' attitude kept them going and commitment could not be faulted.
Russ Parkman played well at full back and pulled off some magnificent tackles while determined running from Russ Mellor and Jacent Rabbitt kept the home side on their toes. Ste Hicking, together with Mellor and Rabbitt, tackled strongly.
