Halton Borough Girls u12s 3 Chester City u12s 0

HALTON thoroughly deserved their victory in a rather one-sided encounter.

Both sides gave their all but it was the Borough side who played the more incisive football in a match that was played in an excellent spirit by both sides.

Halton's one-touch play was a joy to watch and the midfield trio of Natalie Brady, Kelly Jones and Vicky Jones were just too much for Chester to handle with Hannah Pauline up front in a fine run of form at the moment and Kali Whitbread, whose superb tackling and excellent use of the ball from the back has given the Borough side a more balanced look, it was only a matter of time before the breakthrough came.

The first goal started by the Halton corner-flag where Anna Jenkins who is growing in confidence with every game, won the ball superbly before setting Natalie Brady off on a run into the Chester half, she exchanged passes with Kelly Jones whose first-time pass found Vicky Jones who picked out Hannah Pauline with a superb cross to finish coolly from six yards.

It was Vicky who was to claim the next goal with a shot from the edge of the box following another fine move.

Chester threw caution to the wind and pushed Halton back, but they couldn't create any clear-cut chances as the Borough side held firm.

Helen Snee and Kayleigh Wilcox showing great determination to defend their lead.

Halton weathered the brief storm and extended their lead with Mom, Hannah Pauline grabbing her second goal through sheer determination to take her tally to four in two games and rounding off a great display all round.
