He is riding at Cadwell Park for the independant Stuart Jones Racing team on Sunday.

And, having earned the Rider of the Event award at Mallory Park last weekend despite it being his first competitive race on a new bike, he is sure he can make a mark against the expensively assembled production teams.

On Sunday he won two 1300 Open races and beat the lap record during the heats for the Spring Cup.

Poole, from Percy Street, started from the back of the grid in the first five-lap heat for the Spring Cup but managed to claw his way through the field to finish third and qualify for the final.

He knocked two-tenths of a second off the production class lap record in the process. In the Spring Open final he finished third.

David Carson from Wincham is also competing in the British Production Championship and was in action on Sunday, notching up a best finish of 15th on the day.

ALSO at the event was Keith Flint from The Prodigy, who wrote his bike off during the second heat for the Spring Open whilst in 20th place.
