BOXER Daniel Hill broke a man's jaw after finding him with his ex-girlfriend.

The attack took place on the day he was released from custody after being held on rape charges, Warrington Crown Court heard on Thursday.

Hill, 25, of Keeble Street, Widnes, was jailed for two years after admitting two charges of unlawful sex, two of theft and one of inflicting grievous bodily harm.

Lewis Jones, prosecuting, said Hill was having a relationship with a mother-of-two and struck up a sexual relationship with their 15-year-old babysitter.

The girl kept a record of the relationship in her diary but, when her father found the book, claimed Hill had raped her.

Hill was remanded in custody following the rape allegation but was freed when the girl admitted she had lied to stop her parents finding out she had consented to sex.

The same day, Hill went to visit a former girl friend Jean Edge in Widnes. He found her with another man, Gary Worsley.

There was an argument and Hill, a trained boxer, struck Worsley two very powerful blows to the face, fracturing his jaw on both sides and breaking his nose.

Earlier, he had stolen jewellery worth £1,000 from a car and stolen a coat from a flat where he used to live.

Keith Sutton, defending, said Hill regretted his actions which were rooted in his problems with alcohol.

Judge Roger Dutton told Hill: "In two blows, which must have been extremely heavy blows from a man trained in boxing, you caused Mr Worsley to suffer an extremely painful and debilitating injury."
