HAVE you lost your confidence and self-esteem since being divorced or separated?

Then why not try to get it back at New Life New Challenge - a course organised by Relate.

It will be held over six weeks at the Dingle Centre, Winsford, starting on Thursday, May 20, from 7pm-9.30pm.

Terri Wilson, project development officer at Cheshire Relate, said it could be just what the doctor ordered for single people.

"It's to help people come to terms with the break-up of a relationship," she explained.

"When a marriage or relationship has not worked it really knocks a person's confidence and self-esteem.

"So the course gives advice on how to deal with these feelings and emotions. It helps people to look forward to the future."

Describing the effect New Life New Challenge can have, she said: "It really makes a huge difference to people's lives. They come away so much more realistic about the future.

"It also gives people the chance to meet others in similar situations. You may even find a new friend.

"We once had a lady who came to us and the thing that really frightened her was the thought of having to go out on a date again after 30 years.

"She met another man on the course and they have been really good friends ever since."

Terri added: "We have had funding from the National Lottery to run 12 courses across Cheshire. We chose the Dingle Centre because it has full disabled access."

There is a £5 booking fee for the course, which is redeemable at the first session.
