THOU shall not criticise; thou shallst believe every word we utter - so sayeth the gospel according to Councillor Debbie Dalby (Guardian Letters, April 21).

If I am so inaccurate, Councillor Dalby should prove it.

She could begin by placing in Northwich Library (not buried in the bowels of Wyvern House) a copy of the latest Witton Bank Mine geological study.

Let the public judge.

She could submit a reader's letter and tell us who is going to be responsible for compensation /insurance when the filling work commences, or why the development moratorium accelerated the closure of one of Northwich's oldest established businesses?

Perhaps she could also inform us how the council is going to tackle the filling work, eg will thousands of tankers ferry brine into the town, or will it be transported via a specially constructed pipeline, and how many years will that take to create?

Finally, is she satisfied that the limestone waste, apparently going to be used in the filling operation, is free from contaminants, or are we going to be leaving a dangerous legacy for future generations?

So come on, Councillor Dalby, I challenge you. Give us the answers and make this "poisonous pen" redundant.
