The people of Mobberley can be grateful the aircraft took off over the fields instead of over the village, as they usually do.
The aircraft was at about 250ft as it passed over the field on Smith Lane.
Once again it looks as though Manchester International Airport will come out of the situation looking squeaky clean.
I suppose we have to expect this with people like Clr Doug Page boosting Manchester International Airport at every opportunity (last week's letters).
The airport may have a fund to help the local people, but they intend to keep it.
When the Mobberley Victory Hall committee applied for money to help repair the hall roof over 18 months ago, they didn't even receive a reply.
