PEOPLE in Widnes are being conned by unscrupulous traders claiming to be raising cash for Barnardo's.
Con men and women are going into pubs in the town to sell roses, claiming to be collecting the money in aid of the child care charity.
"This is really distressing," said area fund-raiser manager Pat Roberts.
"Anyone approached in this way should refuse and inform the manager."
