South Wirral Premier League

Rangers Breaks 1

Halfway 3

THE sun came out on Saturday and it shone for Dave Whitfield who scored a hat-trick to beat off the Wirral opponents.

Whitfield scored his first after five minutes when Wulff and Prime combined well and Whitfield's shot was too good for the keeper.

Rangers then scored almost immediately as the Halfway defence stook still waiting for an offside decision that never came, the striker then rounding Rigby to level the scores.

Halfway enjoyed the majority of possession and it came as no surprise when Wulff assisted Whitfield again to dance around the keeper to score.

Rigby then pulled off a fine save as Halfway's defence relaxed again.

In the second-half both sides played good football but Halfway created all the chances, Whitfield hitting the post twice, one from the penalty spot.

The game was always in the balance whilst the scoreline remained the same, Halfway's midfield of Bellfield and Mayers continued to release the strikers until the last minute of the game when Whitfield scored his third and made the game safe.
