ACTING vice-principal at Halton College Peter Cavanagh said the staff inspection planned for next week had now been postponed.
He said: "Having listened to concerns of staff we don't want to increase the tension any more than is necessary."
Mr Cavanagh said that the inspection was only ever on the agenda because the college wants to check its own data for a self-assessment which will need to be submitted for next October's FEFC inspection: "It was nothing more sinister than that."
Mr Cavanagh confirmed that John Bolton, currently on holiday, would be looking into senior management but was unable to say when the results of this would be known.
