CONGLETON police have issued an E-fit picture of one of two thugs who robbed two young men.

The men were sitting on a bench at Astbury Mere when they were approached by the thugs and told to empty their pockets.

They were threatened with violence, and their wallets were stolen, along with a mobile phone, cigarettes and money.

The robbery happened at 7.45pm on Friday, August 20, and detectives are keen to hear from anyone who has any information on the offenders, or were in the area at the time and saw the incident.

One of the men police are seeking is described as white, 20 years of age, over six feet tall, with brown hair in a crew cut style.

He had a goatee beard, with the moustache part more prominent, and a Manchester accent.

The other man is white, 19 years old, five feet 10 inches tall, with short, light brown hair brushed forward.

"The victims were reluctant to empty their pockets, but were then threatened with violence," said DC Rod Stokes.

One of the wallets has been found with cash missing, and the second wallet is described as red with a Rox label on it.

The mobile phone is an Ericson GA628, with a black and grey cover.

Witnesses or anyone with information can ring DC Moore-Blundell on 01244-613533 or the Congleton Crime Line on 01244-613545.
