AUNTIE Alison Cartlidge certainly brought her nephew good luck when she took him to Nantwich Market last month.
Alison, from Nantwich, was looking after nine-year-old Simon Davies for a morning when she called in to the market.
They took part in the 'Find Victor the Market Lion' competition as part of the events being held for Great British Market Week - and both won.
Alison scooped a goodie hamper full of market products and Simon was the lucky winner of a brand new bike, sponsored by Nantwich Cycles, of Arnold Street.
The week was held at Crewe and Nantwich Markets from August 7 with face painting, live music and balloon bending for staff and customers.
Victor the Lion was present at both markets and helped to give away more than 3,000 balloons and sticks of rock to children.
"There was a wonderful atmosphere at our markets and the reaction of customers was very positive," said Dee Darwin, market officer.
"I hope that having experienced just how good market shopping can be, new market shoppers will return again and again.
"Regular market shoppers already know all about the secret of maximum choice and maximum value."
