VOLUNTEERS and workers at Crewe Citizens Advice Bureau have been given a £5,000 boost to develop services.
The money has been granted from the Britannia Building Society Foundation to four CABs in Cheshire and Derbyshire where staff all received pound sign shaped cakes to celebrate.
The money for Crewe CAB will be used to help them develop their money advice services.
Wendy Leeson, secretary to the Britannia Building Society Foundation Trustees, said: "Encouraging prudent money management is one of the core areas of activity that the Foundation likes to fund.
"These CABs help many thousands of people. We hope that the Foundation's donation will mean many more people suffering from financial hardship are helped."
