SOUTH Cheshire College has praised GCSE successes after another year of top scoring results were announced.

The college's many students on full time and part time GCSE courses received excellent results with a 100 per cent pass rate in sociology, photography, Spanish and French.

"We would like to congratulate all our partner schools for the success they have had this year in delivering a quality education to pupils," said College Director of Marketing, Karen Gee.

"Youngsters now have the opportunity to continue to study and train for the careers they want by signing up for further education courses at South Cheshire College."

Derek Schofield, A level and GCSE co-ordinator said: "In some cases, passing such subjects as Maths and English are vital for careers and admission into higher education, so the passes that our students have achieved represent real success."

Enrolment at the college is on September 6, 7 and 8 from 2pm to 8pm and September 11 from 10am to 4pm.

COPPENHALL High School pupils have notched up a record number of successes in this year's exams.

Overall the number of pupils gaining five or more GCSEs is up to 86 per cent and the amount leaving school with one or more is up from 90 per cent to 95 per cent.

Headteacher Mike Claddingbowl said: "There are many things to be pleased about again this year.

"Although the headline figure of five A-C grades doesn't seem as impressive, taking everything into account results are as good as last year and a number of our young people have done exceptionally well.

"More pupils than ever before were entered for GCSE, the number of pupils getting at least one grade has gone up to 95 per cent and there was a record number of A* grades.

"Congratulations to all those who worked so hard and who have done so well."

BRINE Leas High School pupils in Nantwich have enjoyed outstanding GCSE results once again this year.

In a year group of 177 students, 117 or 66 per cent have achieved five or more grades of A*, A, B and C and all students gained at least one pass.

"Results of this sort really do require a team effort from every one involved," said headteacher Mike Butler.

"There are many families and teachers who will enjoy the results knowing full well that their personal effort has been well rewarded."

SANDBACH School is looking forward to having its biggest sixth form intake in September after excellent GCSE results.

Some 56 per cent of year 11 boys gained five or more GCSEs at grades A to C.

Headteacher Peter Wiles said: "The boys worked very hard with their subject tutors to achieve these results which were entirely in line with our expectations of the year group.

"The results are a testament to the dedication and professionalism of the teaching staff."

RUSKIN High School headteacher Philip Mottershead has praised the GCSE pupils for their hard work over the last two years.

From almost 140 pupils more than 90 gained 10 GCSEs with many gaining seven or more.

"Once again this year The Ruskin School is very pleased with our pupils' achievements," said Mr Mottershead.

"There are excellent individual performances at every level reflected in these results.

"We congratulate our pupils on their results which come as a fitting reward for the hard work and dedication they have shown and we wish them every success in the future."

EXCELLENT performances by students in their GCSEs at Sandbach High School and Sixth Form College have resulted in 77 per cent of year 11 gaining five or more passes at grades A* to C.

Four out of every five entries achieved at least a grade C with 27 per cent of entries gaining the very highest A* and A grades.

"Once again there are many individual success stories that could be told. Each member of the year group though deserves hearty congratulations which I am very pleased to offer," said headteacher John Leigh.

"Teachers and their students deserve this unprecedented success which is just reward for teamwork and hard work. Parents, too, deserve a special thank you for the support they have offered their daughters and the school."

VICTORIA Community High School's headteacher is delighted by this year's record GCSE results.

Greg Brown said there had been a record entry into the exams which had produced record results.

More pupils than before gained GCSE success with the largest number ever gaining high grades.

The overall points score also reached a new high indicating that the school is achieving success across the board.

"Once again we are delighted with what our students have achieved due to their own hard work, the efforts of teachers and the all-important support from home. We shall watch their progress with pride," he said.

AT St Thomas More High School 66 per cent of pupils gained grades A* to C with 64 per cent achieving five or more.

More than five per cent of students gained A* grades with 14 per cent achieving A grade and 22 per cent gaining Bs.

SOME 64 Kings Grove students gained GCSE results at grades A* to C with the majority of pupils gaining A to G grades.
